2-Day Course!

Experienced Rider Course
For the motorcyclist with some riding experience, the ERC allows you to challenge yourself with advanced braking, cornering, and swerving exercises - on your own motorcycle!

Five hours of combined classroom and hands-on instruction ensure you will leave with improved skills AND a grin on your face! This course is not as popular as the Basic Rider Course as it does not offer the licensing benefits, thus is held about four times a year. Course tuition is $100.

Next ERC schedule for Monday, May 30, 2011, from 8:00AM to 1:00PM.

Why do an ERC?

Someone once said "If you don't learn something new every day, you're dead". That person was my father. You can take that statement two different ways; either you have actually died, or you've stopped thinking there is anything to learn, and that lack of knowledge will kill you - if not immediately, then soon. The thing we've noticed about the vast majority of Basic Rider Course graduates is that they don't think any more training is necessary once they have adapted the BRC skill set to their personal bikes and riding style. Another perception riders have is they can't possibly learn anything new since they have been riding mishap-free for so long. Both mindsets are potentially deadly.

Completing an Experienced Rider Course is an opportunity to practice skills that a rider uses both routinely and infrequently and give them another set of "eyes" (the RiderCoaches) on what they're doing to ensure that the motor skills and techniques they are using are proper. Many riders think that "If what I am doing feels correct it must be correct" but that isn't always the case. How many riders adapt skills from other endeavours (a good example is mountain biking) that, while effective in that discipline, do diminish the effectiveness of what they are trying to do on a motorcycle? The end result could be catastrophic. Fellow riders, that's is what we're trying to do in an ERC - to give you the opportunity to integrate tried-and-proven skills into your everyday riding.

An ERC is great fun. We don't treat you like you need to be spoon-fed the information. We are here to facilitate your own learning, in an environment that gives you the tools to be a better motorcycle rider. If you haven't given thought to taking an ERC, perhaps now is the time. The next ERC on the schedule is the day after Thanksgiving, November 26, 2010 from 8am to 1pm. You must supply your own motorcycle and safety gear, and your equipment will be given an cursory safety and serviceability inspection prior to riding. Cost is only $100, and is recognized by most insurance companies to reduce your motorcycle insurance bill. Come out and hone your craft!
This is a great class for the experienced, licensed rider who wants to refresh or perfect their riding skills. Just bring your own motorcycle, equipment, motorcycle license, and desire to have fun! Five hours that could change your outlook on riding forever.

Next class scheduled for Monday, May 30, 2011, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
